Guest zeppelin4 Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 I have a '99 2.3 Ghia X Auto and today it has developed a strange loud clicking that originates from beneath my left foot - I can actually feel the clicks through my foot. This only happens when I turn left - turning right is fine. What could that be? And is it safe to drive I wonder? I did a search on steering and found plenty of screeching problems - but no clicking... Any help is much appreciated. Thanks! Quote
chromedome Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 Sounds like a CV joint failing. Quote
Guest zeppelin4 Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 Well I took the car for a run this morning and guess what! No more clicking! I can see the steering column heads down below the left foot area but couldn't see anything caught on the column that would obviously have caused this. Perhaps it's fixed itself! A self-healing Galaxy. More seriously though - is a failing CV joint bad news? Expensive? Quote
